GLOBAL FAMILY INITIATIVE
Direct support for community-led shelters and grassroots organizations
The Global Family Initiative recognizes that refugee-led grassroots organizations are serving the most marginalized populations in challenging situations while being vastly under-resourced. Therefore, this initiative was established in response to this gap to protect our community members by partnering with refugee-led housing collectives to provide emergency shelter and life-saving resources like food, medicines, and clothes. We also train each collective in organization management, financial accountability, SOGI sensitivity, and self-sufficiency.

Historically, the Global Family Initiative has supported Rohingya refugee widowed mothers in Bangladesh, single African mothers in Istanbul, and LGBTQIA+ rights activists in Nepal and India. Currently, the Global Family Initiative supports a network of 32 LGBTQIA+ safe houses across 12 countries in Africa and Europe, while preparing to broaden its support to refugee communities globally.
Currently, we have limited funds and full capacity for the Global Family Initiative, please come back at a later date to check availability.
